Zinc Selenate, ZnSeO4

The colourless hexahydrate, ZnSeO4.6H2O, crystallises in the tetragonal system, and the pentahydrate occurs in triclinic crystals.

Zinc selenate forms a series of double salts represented by the general formula R2SeO4.ZnSeO4.6H2O, where R is an alkali metal or NH4.

The double salt, K2SeO4.ZnSeO4.2H2O, is known, and some complex salts containing zinc selenate have been prepared. The acid salt, ZnSeO4.H2SeO4.2H2O, has also been obtained.
